Decision Pre-Read Builder

Build the pre-read for a collaborative decision in one sitting, ready to send to everyone taking part

The person driving a decision often loses days turning a blank template into something the group can actually read before the meeting. The Decision Pre-Read Builder walks the Driver through ten short steps, with a worked example on every screen, and produces Section 2 of the Collaborative Decision Document: the set-up, the brief built on my proprietary decision framework, and, when the stakes call for it, a private rating sheet for each participant. Because the wording matches the full document, the pre-read drops straight into it for the meetings and the record afterwards.

What you get

  • A decision question checked for a solution in disguise, with scope, background and a decide-by date
  • A decision read that sets the path, light or full, one meeting or two, and works out when the pre-read must go out
  • Decision rights in plain terms: one Driver, exactly one Approver, Contributors and the Informed, the method and a fallback
  • A consultation contract with a default for silence, so the decision does not stall waiting for replies
  • A brief that frames the issue two ways, separates fact from assumption, names the core tension and the crux, lays out at least three options and sets the criteria before anyone scores
  • A finished pre-read to download as Word or PDF, private rating sheets on the full path, and a cover note ready to send, all kept in your browser

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether coaching, a team engagement, a workshop or an off-site is the right next move. If you would rather work it out on your own first, the decision tool takes three minutes.
